Norfolk Southern’s afternoon “intermodal hour” is well under way at Portage, as NS mixed intermodal train 23W heads west down the No. 3 Track behind a pair of SD70M-2’s as international containers head east up the No. 2 Track behind an SD70M-2 and a D9-40CW. While all this is happening, SD80MAC’s 7206, 7205 (ex-CR), and 7214 wait at the Sonman East Switch at BC, before getting the Form D to proceed west down the No. 1 Track to the Sonman West Switch at NY, milepost 258.8 in Portage.
